At the 3rd edition of Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) that took place on 7th and 8th, August, 2024 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, the consensus of the two days event is that stakeholders in the Industry must maximize and take advantage of new trends in the technology space to enhance their production and leverage on it for better productivity overall.

NEMCEA is a strategic Media content event convened annually by the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) with its maiden edition in year 2022. It is a three in one event with focus on Content Market, Conferences and Awards.

At the Opening Ceremony, the President of EMCOAN, Mr. Adeniji Omirin stated the importance of improving on the last two editions. He also opined that “we also have a very large number of contents across paid TV platforms and terrestrial TV stations in Nigeria and across Africa. Our association is made up of industry veterans as well as associates members who are made up of young and upcoming content producers especially online content creators”, he submitted.Alhaji Lai Mohammed, former Minister of Information and Culture was one of the Special Guests of Honour. In his remarks, he alluded to the need for the Government to take the Creative Industry seriously and invest in it, hence, the creative economy can increase our GDP rapidly as a nation.

Obi Emelonye, Creative Director with (Nollywood Film Factory) was one of the Lead Speakers who treated the central theme – “Content Production and Emerging Technology; A Panacea For Growth in The Creative Economy’. He enjoined Content Producers to start embracing the new technological trends to enhance better productivity. He gave instances of how he made use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for storyboarding in his last film production and relish the worthwhile exprience to the audience.
