Following the submission of “Ghana-must-go” bags of evidence by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), governorship candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade at the Ogun Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, supporters of the party are in cerebration mood in anticipation of their “victory”.

Akinlade had stormed  theTribunal with ‘Ghana Must Go’ bags containing electoral evidences to prove his case beyond reasonable doubts.

Akinlade petitioned the election Tribunal, alleging he was robbed of his victory.

The Tribunal admitted in evidence, forms EC8A from different wards in Abeokuta North and Ado Odo/Otta local governments as counsels to INEC, Governor Abiodun, and the APC did not object to the evidence.

At the resumed sitting on Thursday, Akinlade also testified against Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the election.

Akinlade told the Tribunal, “I did not lose the election, he (Abiodun) did not defeat me. After March 9 election, we did our reviews and analysis, then we discovered there was illegality”.

“My Lord, I want the Tribunal to do justice to the petition. There were irregularities in the nomination forms of the second respondent. The second lied on oath.”

The matter was adjourned till July 5 for continuation of the hearing.
