When some members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) recently trooped to the Nnewi residence of Capital Oil Boss, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah begging him to join the party, many took it for a joke.

The APGA faithful in their hundreds stormed Ubah’s house that Thursday afternoon chanting solidarity songs and declaring their unwavering love and support for him.

Now, it is becoming clearer that the show was not a joke, as Ubah soon met with delegates of the caucus of APGA to work out plans for his membership and eventual endorsement as the party’s flag-bearer for the next governorship election in Anambra State.

According to an inside source, Ubah’s latest move after his sojourn in both the APC and PDP, is giving the incumbent governor of the state, Dr. Willie Obiano, sleepless nights. Ubah, an APGA governor who is eyeing a second term, the source claimed, is no longer enjoying the confidence of his party chiefs, especially his predecessor, Dr. Peter Obi, with whom he fell out few months into his governorship.

Ubah reportedly met with Chief Victor Umeh, the Chairman of Willie Obiano Re-election Campaign Organization, who we heard has also fell out with Obiano.

After the meeting, Ubah reportedly told journalists that “Ohamadike (Chief Victor Umeh) has been my political ally for a long time. And no one can separate us.”
