Alhaji Samsondeen Ajagungbade Marks Birthday With Special Ramadan Lecture

For Alhaji Atanda Samsondeen Ogunkoya, Chairman Ajagbade Koya Nigeria Limited, May 29th 2018 was a day of double celebration. The day usually marked nationwide as the Nigerian Democracy Day also happened to be the birthday of this Lagos Big boy who is a prominent figure in the Lagos Real Estate and Property sector. It was also a day of piety for Chief Ajagungbade who is a devoted Muslim as he also used the occasion to host Islamic clerics and faithful to a Ramadan Islamic Lecture. However, the day was not without its exciting points.

 

Chief Ajagungbade kicked off the birthday celebration at the Campos Mini Stadium Opposite City Hall in Lagos Island. His pet club, Ajagungbade Football Club took on Soccer City Football Club of Lagos in a celebratory football match in honour of Alhaji Samsondeen Ogunkoya who is a well-known football enthusiast and financial supporter. The match which kicked off at 11am, with friends, family and well-wishers of the celebrant in attendance. Also on ground to witness the match were Fuji maestro Alhaji Alao Malika, a former Lagos State Chairman of the National Road Transport Workers Union, Alhaji Oluhunwa and a member of the 8th House of Representatives representing the Orile-Iganmu Federal Constituency. The match made history when after ending in a goalless draw; it went into a marathon penalty shootout that eventually ended 18 to 17 in the favour of Ajagungbade FC.

From Lagos Island, the celebration team left a  motorcade for the Starlight Private School, Sari Iganmu, Orile venue for the Ramadan Lecture. Various Islamic clergymen took their turn on the podium as they preached and gave admonitions to the mammoth crowd present at the event on the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and the Holy Qur’an. They also took time out to praise the celebrant, Alhaji Samsondeen Ogunkoya who is the Baba Adini Arafat Islamic Foundation. They described him as an uncommon giver who will spare nothing to bring succour to the needy and spend in the cause of Islam. They took turns to pray for him and his family.

Members of the Nigerian Nollywood were also on hand to felicitate with Ajagungbade whom they described as a benefactor and reliable friend. Among those present were Yinka Quadri, Abdul Ganiyu Olaiya, Alesh and a host of others.

The event finally came to a late end with the sharing of bountiful take-away food and drinks hampers that were shared to all present in the seasonal mood and spirit of Ramadan Kereem.
