Supporters of Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, the former governor of Oyo State have started campaigning on social media for the return of their principal in 2019 as the governor of the state. The Ogbomoso born retired police officer who ruled Oyo State for five years was said to have also been contacting friends and allies, seeking advice on whether to contest in 2019 or not. Although, some of his close aides who used to run errand for him on political matters are no longer with him, he still believes he can win the election if given the APC ticket.
