ADC Makes Wave In Osun

Ahead of the guber elections in Ekiti and Osun states, the African Democratic Congress (ADC)  has  not only been working towards getting   emerged  as a party to reckon with  in the 2019 general elections but  also planning to show  relevance and make a political statement  in the guber elections of Ekiti and Osun states.   The party formally unveiled its local and Ward executives in Iwo, Osun West senatorial district penultimate week.  The event which made the ancient city stood still had in attendance a chieftain of the party who is also the state former SSG,  Prince Kazeem Adio, state party officials, the  Iwo ADC coordinator , Mr. Adekunbi Tajudeen and thousands of party faithful. The interim chairman of the party, Mr Oladosu Razaq who was later sworn in with the other 25 executives expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the party for bringing the party to the state particularly, Iwo at a time when the people have, according to him rejected the current administration for failing to deliver on its promises. 

In his remarks at the event, Prince Kazeem Adio appreciated the party members for accepting the ADC with all sincerity while describing the party as the most credible platform that can serve the interest of the good people of Iwo and the state at large. ‘With you, the leadership of our great party in Iwo Local government, the party is ready to take over control of governance in the state come September 22 to give the state a fresh direction and rescue it from the quagmire the present government has plunged it into’ he said. Kazeem concluded by stating that the ADC will apply the ‘People’s first’ policy and principle  if voted  into power in  the forthcoming  governorship election. 

Also speaking, Mr. Adekunbi Tajudeen popularly known as ‘Orji’  thanked the people for supporting  the ADC, while lamenting  how  the Osun West has been marginalized and  how politicians have always  made patronizing statement   by  referring to Iwo as their ‘Second home’.  ‘It is time for an Iwo son to also call other cities their second home, let us not be deceived again, it is time for us to get it right in Iwo’ he said.
