The ongoing distribution of food palliatives for the under-privileged in the society by Dr Siju Iluyomade tagged ‘Arise Pink Bucket’, which commenced in Lagos last year, has moved to Abule-Egba, a community in Lagos State. The team of ‘Arise Women’ returned to Lagos for the distribution of the food basket after taking the palliatives to Ibadan, Oyo State, a couple of weeks ago.

Residents of Abule-Egba and environs trooped out with excitement on Sunday 3rd of April 2022 at Kofoworola Street in the community to get their packs even as many were seen pouring encomium on the convener of ‘Arise Women’, Dr Siju, for always coming to their aid. It will be recalled that, the ‘Arise Women’ team had sometime last year erected a massive borehole for the people of the community to ease the water shortage crisis in the area.

Sharing the pink bucket packages which consist of items like spaghetti, rice, tomatoes paste, groundnut oil, among other things, is now a regular activity of Dr Siju to reach out to the under-privileged in the society in a bid to cushion the effects of the economic challenges facing the people.

The distribution of the food baskets started on the 1st of December, 2021 during Dr Iluyomade’s Handmaidens weekly event at the COD Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victoria Island, where people trooped in to pick up the ‘Arise Pink Bucket’ palliatives, but it has moved to some local government areas in Lagos State including Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos-Island as well as Ibadan in Oyo State.

A lot of women were seen on the streets of Abule-Egba in happy mood as they held on to their packages respectively, while also hailing Dr Siju for her generosity.

Over three million ‘Arise Pink Buckets’ are expected to be distributed in many parts of the country in the next few weeks, according to Dr Iluyomade.
