Since disclosing his intention to contest Ogun State governorship election in 2019 elections, the profile of the member representing Lagos West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has been on the increase. The development has made bigwigs of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to decamp to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared their support for Yayi. The youth wing of various political parties and organizations, including some loyalists of former Governor Gbenga Daniel, have been identifying with the Lagos senator. Checks also reveal that all the criticisms and allegations levelled against him have only made him more popular. He has also continued to gain ground even in the face of lies that he is not from Ogun State. When some forces from Ogun State attempted to demolish his house, sources said Lagos forces also attempted to replicate the demolition of his perceived enemies’ houses in Lagos.
