Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has described as untrue, a statement credited to the former Commissioner of Finance in Ogun State, Adewale Oshinowo, that his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, left a total of 18.8bn in the coffers of Ogun State.
Abiodun, while speaking through his Media Consultant, Yinka Ogundimu, said Oshinowo, was being economical with the truth when he recently spoke about the finances of the state. He, however, did not disclose how much was in the treasury when he took over from Amosun on May 29.Ogundimu, in his statement, said Oshinowo’s comment is an “effort to portray the new administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in a bad light and dim the goodwill already being enjoyed by the government, based on its good governance anchored on transparency and accountability.
