The CEO of Africa Heritage Focus Initiative International, Ogbeni Kayode Olabode, has expressed shock over the passing of Mallam Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kyari died on Friday, 17th of April 2020 while receiving treatment after testing positive to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ogbeni Olabode, in a statement he personally signed, commiserated with the presidency and the deceased’s immediate family and associates, praying that God forgives him his shortcomings and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

Olabode described the late CoS as a man of honour who diligently served his fatherland till death.

Meanwhile, Ogbeni Olabode has called on Nigerians, most importantly the religious leaders, to cooperate with the federal government and state governments in the fight against Covid-19 and adhere strictly to all laid-down preventive measures while also maintaining the social distance by staying at home while avoiding social gathering.

”The death of Mallam Abba Kyari is an evidence that Covid-19 is real and right here with us in Nigeria,” Olabode noted, while he commended the Lagos state governor HE Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Ilu, health commissioner, police commissioner and the task force officials ”for being on top of the situation while he praised Lagosians for their total support and cooperation with the state government despite the inconvenience, hardship, hunger and the boredom.”

He, however, frowned at the high rate of insecurity across Lagos State caused by some miscreants known as ‘Oyabo Boys’, ‘Awawaa Boys’, ‘One Million Boys’, and the likes that has turned residents to vigilantes in their various neighbourhood.

He concluded by appealing to the federal government to further reduce the pains occasioned by the lockdown by crediting individual’s bank account trough their BVN as suggested by a national leader of APC and former governor of Lagos State
