Germany based Kenyan artiste, Gal Dee has dropped a new single, titled “Nataabika”.
Gal Dee, who spoke to Nigerian journalist, Dare Gbadebo, from her base in Berlin,
revealed that as a result of her fans, looking forward to a new song from her, she decided to quench their thirst with “Nataabika”.
“Nataabika”, according to the Kenya music star, means suffering for love, in the East African nation, Swahili language.
The singer revealed that as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, she has learnt to treasure every moment, as she sees life, a special gift from God.
She further revealed that “Nataabika”, is a song produced by Teknix, a music producer she is working with, for the first time.
Gal Dee who loves to sing the zouk genre of song, revealed that she followed a same pattern, recording “Nataabika” in zouk style.
Gal Dee want her fans to look forward to the visuals of “Nataabika”, as she promises, it would drop soon.
Recording African music in Europe, has been a bit of challenge she said, because producers in Europe do not have, the African music feeling and as a reason, she records most of her songs, in Kenya she said.
Gal Dee concludes, she has the mission to take Swahili to the world, as a Kenyan music artiste, recording, living and performing music in Germany. Her music is doing very well, she believes, as she sees herself, as an ambassador of Kenya music, art and culture, in diaspora.
