To the glory of God, today, Sunday, November 15, 2020, a two-time Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Ayodele Peter Fayose is sixty years old. Without mincing words, this adjudged political colossus has God on his side to have attained what he has achieved since his foray into active national politics.
Sixty years is a milestone worth celebrating and it would be perfect not just to congratulate the ex-Governor alone on this auspicious occasion, but his family members especially the wife, Feyisetan Fayose, supporters and political associates on this landmark birthday anniversary; they truly must be appreciated for always standing firm with him in defense and support.
Dr Ayo Fayose is one unique leader who has been heralded by many lofty achievements in the private sector and public service, attracting recognition at home and abroad, especially in contributing to his state and national development.
His discipline, diligence, forthrightness, courage and other laudable steps taken, when he held sway as Ekiti State Governor in prioritizing education and health care in the state, and providing infrastructure aimed at stimulating greater economic activities and reduce poverty are amazing legacies that remain commendable and enduring.
Interestingly, many right thinking observers have said that Fayose’s wealth of experience in providing leadership, and strong network in the business community while in office gainfully helped to turn the fortunes of the state around for good, while also urging him to remain steadfast and focused in improving the lives of the people as God is gradually preparing him for greater political office in Nigeria and may Almighty God endow him with abundant health and wisdom to realise his dreams.
Fayose’s openness and sincerity of purpose have always helped him to naturally command reverence from both young and old, despite being vociferously and rabidly attacked by paid hatchet men for cheap political reasons, God has always granted him victory to the shame of his adversaries.
He has outperformed all Governors before him, and at no time in the history of the state has a governor attracted as much international attention as Fayose has done.
There is no family in Ekiti that was not impacted by Fayose’s presence in government. All parents without exception with kids at school had their children’s school environment improved. Farmers had a field day as most of their fortunes improved substantially and of course the ‘stomach infrastructure’ initiative for the poor which is now being emulated by government at all levels was an icing on the cake.
Meanwhile, the good people of Ekiti State have declared that with years of exceptional governance in Ekiti state, the former Governor Ayodele Peter Fayose has indelibly imprinted his name in the history of the State and posterity will surely judge him kindly.
