30 Most Powerful Persons Gov. Okowa Can’t Ignore In Delta

In Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa led- administration of Delta State, there are no fewer than 30 persons who are very close to him and
undoubtedly, their decision holds sway in the affairs of the state.

Professor Sam Oyovbaire: Former Minister of Information whose pedigree speaks volumes. He dictates the pace in Okowa led-
administration. He is the Delta State chairman of Peace
Advisory Committee, Delta State University (DELSU). Okowa respects his view and often calls him “my father”.
HRM Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel Efeizomo:

The Obi of Owa Kingdom, High
influential and authoritative in decision making. Interestingly, Obi
Efeizomo whose son, Victor Efeizomo is a member of Okowa’s kitchen cabinet is the royal father in Okowa’s community.
Hilary Ibegbunlem:

Many refer to him as the
de facto-deputy governor of the state. He’s very close to the governor. He is the principal secretary of the governor. As an Ika man, he commands great respect.
Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu:

He is the chief press secretary to the
governor. A product of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi and intelligent
journalist, he makes contributions more often to the affairs in the state,
the governor respects his views.
Tam Brisibe: He is currently the chief of staff, a product of the
famous Edo College, the school that Gov. Okowa attended. Brisibe
views are never ignored by the governor. He is humble and intelligent from Ijaw speaking tribe of the state.
Sir Edwin Ogidi-gbegbaje:

He is the Permanent Secretary, Government House. People call him Super Perm. Sec., he is very humble and intelligent; a product of Edo College and Urhoboman. He’s not
carried away with materialism. The governor respects his views so
much.
Mr. Ovie Festus Agas

He is the SSG and a decision maker. Ovie, a one-time journalist, is a close friend of the governor.
Chief Anthony Okowa

He is the chairman of Delta State Sports Commission. Although he is the younger brother of the governor, he is a decision maker at the corridor of power.
Eriateke Ibori: She is ex-Governor Ibori’s daughter, very close to
Okowa because of her father’s influence. Eriateke represents Ethiope East Constituency at the State House of Assembly. She is a decision maker.
Monday Igbuya

He is the speaker of the State House of Assembly. Though he is from Sapele-Urhobo speaking tribe, he is a decision maker that Okowa respects often.
Professor Patrick Muoboghare:

He is the former Commissioner for Basic Education in the state. And he is an orator whom the governor cherishes a lot.
Engr. Jude Sinebe:

This young man is the State Commissioner for Higher
Education. He is an Ijaw man with wealth of academic experience.
Governor Okowa respects him for his intelligence and organized
prowess.
Mrs. Oyemachi Mrakpor:

Highly influential in Okowa’s administration, she is a member of House of Representatives for Onicha/Oshimili Federal
Constituency. As powerful as she is, she decides many issues in the
state. A no-nonsense woman of substance, he commands respect in the political matters of Delta State.
Dr. Festus Okubor: One time governorship aspirant in the state, a
product of Edo College and highly influential Ika man, Okowa listens
to him more often.
Dr. Joseph Otumara: Former Health Commissioner in the state. Otumara
became very close to Okowa during the election that ushered him into
office as governor of Delta State. He is influential and a decision
maker.
Mrs. Pat Ejete: She is from Ika speaking tribe. Very influential and
highly respected, she is connected to the governor and a decision
maker.
Barr. Raymos Guanah: He is intelligent and a board member of one of the higher institutions in the state. He is also a decision maker and
close to the governor.
Dr. Pius Sinebe:

He is the father of Engr.  Sinebe, very powerful and a decision maker. Okowa respects him a lot and he is a decision maker.
Professor Sylvester Monye: He is a Special Adviser to the governor, he
is intelligent and a decision maker in Okowa’s cabinet.
Government Ekpemukpolo (Alias Tompolo): This ex-militant is very close to Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and he brought his brother, the Deputy Governor, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro to politics. He is very powerful and Okowa respects him a lot.
Olorogun David Edevbie: Commissioner for Finance and one time governorship aspirant. He is a decision maker and highly respected by Governor Okowa.
Dr. Joseph Ukadike:

He is the Provost, College of Education, Agbor; very influential and connected to the governor.

Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu: Among all the commissioners appointed, Dr. Emu commands more respect, a core professional with wealth of experience in Economics and Finance. Emu is an Ika man who talks tough in decision making in the state.
DAME Patience Ikem Okwuofu: Longest serving woman in politics, she is often called ‘Agunwayi” from Obomkpa community in the state. Highly influential and commands lots of respects. She is currently the
chairman, civil service commission in the state. She does her things in
modern ways.
Reginald Bayoko: He is the new Head of Service (HOS), an Ijaw man and very influential in Okowa administration. His contributions and views are not ignored by the governor.

Comrade Mike Okeme:

As a unionist, Okowa doesn’t joke with his views. He
is currently the Special Adviser on Labour Relations to the governor.
He is influential and a decision maker.

Professor Eric Eboh:

He is a very strong Ika man with intelligence. He is also the Director- General, Poverty Alleviation and Job Creation Officer. Very influential and close to the governor in decision making process.

Kingsley Azu: He is a Special Assistant to the governor. As a
journalist, the governor respects his views and often seeks his
opinion in his professional area.

Mrs. Mary Iyasere:

She is the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry
in the state. She is very close to the governor for the fact that she
mobilized women for him during his election. She is a decision maker too.

Rev. Shola Williams: She is the Commissioner for Women Affairs and a decision maker at all times.
