It was no doubt a great loss to the Ilorin Emirate Council and the Saraki’s political family when the news spread on the 25th of March that a prominent son of the city, Alhaji Salihu Olarongbe who was turbanned as ‘Serikin n driver’ , had journeyed to the great beyond. People readily spoke in sepulchral tone, lamented and mourned the late politician cum community leader. Global Excellence gathered that barely a month after his death, his widow, Alhaja Aishat Iyabo has also made a trip to the great beyond.
‘She was a very nice woman and she was accommodating to all, she had not been feeling well since her husband began to face the health issues, her mother also died two weeks after the death of her husband, it is not easy losing two loved ones in quick succession and it must have affected her health badly and she also left the planet earth on Tuesday, 23rd of April. It is quite sad’,’ a source said.
