Hon. Razak Atunwa

he federal lawmakers laughed off APC leadership’s claims that they will make a U-turn and return into its fold.

The lawmakers said they have fully weighed their actions and there was no going back.
According to the paper, the Coordinator of the 32 defectors, Razak Atunwa, who is the chairman of House Committee on Justice, wondered why the APC would reduce the defection to just return tickets.
He said: “Ticket or no ticket, this is a decision that we have taken and we know this is the best.
“We are talking about fundamental national issues, lack of good governance and generally, a government that has failed to deliver on its promises to the Nigerian people.
“When you reduce it to ticket, you make this whole fight look unserious or merely which party has majority or not majority. We are talking about a government that has failed.”
Meanwhile, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi has also vowed never to return to the APC.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hunkuyi, who represents Kaduna North at the Nigerian Senate said this while on a visit to the PDP secretariat in Kaduna state on Friday, July 27.
“We came to tell you that we have formally left the APC and we shall not turn back again.
“We have moved to the PDP with all our structure to join hands to take back power in Kaduna State from the APC,” Hunkuyi said.
NAN reports that Hunkuyi made his appearance at the secretariat with two House of Representatives members, Lawal Rabiu and Rufai Chanchangi, representing Lere and Kaduna South respectively at the National Assembly.
In a related vein, eagleee.com reported earlier that Senator Lanre Tejuoso, who Senate president Bukola Saraki read out his name as one of the defectors from the APC for the PDP on Tuesday, July 24, returned to APC on Wednesday.
Tejuoso, representing Ogun Central, announced his return at a meeting between APC senators and President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock on Wednesday, July 25 night.
While introducing himself to the president, he said: “Mr President, your son has returned home.”
