Fresh facts have emerged of the reason a South-West female assembly speaker was forced to resign by her political party.

The crisis that led to the speaker’s resignation had turned the State’s assembly into two factions of the same party.

Twenty members of the other faction had sacked the speaker before the new governor of the state intervened and gave her soft landing.

Meanwhile, we have gathered that the genesis of the former speaker’s travails was her alleged disloyalty to her party. Although, her forced resignation was said to have been engineered over money matter, sources said that her problem didn’t start from there.

We were told that, during the last governorship election that ushered in the current administration in the State, the former speaker voted for a wrong party at her unit.

According to sources, the woman thumb printed on the logo of a certain political party called DPP, which acronym looks and sounds just like that of her party.

When accosted by eagle-eyed party members who observed her doing it, the former speaker reportedly begged that it was done in error. But it was too late as the INEC official in charge of the unit reportedly declined when she allegedly offered money to reverse what she called ‘error’.

However, party members who witnessed the scenario would not buy the ‘error’ claim as they  suspected that the ‘error’ might have been done intentionally.
