According to Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka, his senior special assistant on media, Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, marked the 2017 Democracy Day by taking representatives of Civil society organisations, the media and other interest groups in Ogun State, on a tour of ongoing road projects and overhead bridges in the three senatorial districts of the state.

Addressing journalists during the tour, Soyinka said, Governor Amosun expressed delight with the ongoing construction of 110km Ilara/Ijoun/Eggua/Oja-Odan/Ilase road in Ogun West Senatorial district.

The Governor said the road, which cuts across four local government areas, is one of his favorite projects because the zone had been neglected for so long with little or no development before his administration came on board.

Governor Amosun who also visited other ongoing projects including the 29Km Ofada/Mowe/Ibafo/Magboro as well as the 32km Ijoko/Alagbole/Agbado/Akute roads, which has five overhead bridges at different levels of completion in Ogun Central Senatorial district, disclosed that the roads before now were impassable but are presently in better shapes while nearing completion.

The Governor also inspected the Sagamu road; Mobalufon/Oba-Erinwole road in Ijebu-Ode and the Ilishan/Ago-Iwoye road, which has three ongoing overhead bridges, all in the Ogun East Senatorial district of the state.

To wrap up the day, the Governor also commissioned the newly-built MITROS Gardens and Residences in Abeokuta.

Governor Amosun, who promised that his administration would work till the last day in office, assured that he will not rest on his oars while adding that all ongoing projects will be completed and delivered.

Governor Amosun therefore called on the people of the state, especially residents of border towns, to obey the residency rule of taxation by ensuring that their taxes are paid to Ogun State, where they reside.
