In what seems to be a preempt attempt to stop the local government caretaker chairmen in Oyo State from actualizing their mission to the Oyo State House of Assembly, Governor Ajimobi has ordered for the purchase of official cars for all Assembly members in the state.
We gathered exclusively that, the local government caretaker chairmen were planning to stage a protest visit to the Chamber of the state Assembly to lodge complaint over the non-payment of their salaries since being sworn into office months back.
In fact, gist merchants informed that, the speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly has already set up committee to investigate the non-payment of the council chairmen salaries.
However, the governor who got wind of the attempt protest by the LG chairmen, hurriedly ordered for the official cars of the lawmakers in an attempt to compromise their decision on the visit of the local government chairmen. It was gathered that, the official cars for the lawmakers were overdue, as Governor Ajimobi failed to give the legislators the official cars after assuming office in 2015.
