A gentleman grassroots politician from Iwo, Osun State, Nigeria, Rufai Adeniyi Ismail, has been endorsed by indegenes of Iwoland to represent their interests at the Osun State House of Assembly come 2019.

According to a statement made available to Global Excellence magazine by a group of young Iwo professionals under the aegis of RAI2019 Supposed Group, “for decades, Iwoland has suffered so much due to lack of proper and effective representation by those who have been representing our interests in both state and national government. Our hometown-Iwo Land have become a forgotten city in the eyes of the present administration not because we don’t have our people in government but because those who have been representing us are poorly representing us without the in-depth knowledge of the fundamental problems facing our community, hence our choice of Rufai Ismail.”

The group adds that Iwo land can only be great when selfless and pragmatic men and women are put forward to represent its interest at all levels of government. The statement said that RAI, as Rufai is fondly addressed falls in the category of such candidate that is not a regular politician but who put the interest of Iwoland above other interests.

“RAI is a man that understands properly the legislative functions which are the utmost purposes why we have given him our mandate, and we know he will not betray the trust for the lust of office. He is a man who believes that the developmental agenda of Iwoland is not solely on what he thinks but what his people want and demand,” the group stated.

Further, the group said it was optimistic RAI would work to lift Iwoland and work for both the economic and political advancement of Iwoland by ensuring such amenities as accessible roads,‬ urban/city planning‬, affordable housing‬, basic necessities like water, rehabilitation of youths involving in substance abuse, and skill acquisition for unemployed youths, are no longer in want for people of Iwoland.

“Iwoland deserves a man who believes that power is not a gift but a responsibility. That is why we have chosen RAI for the job,” the statement concludes.
