OPC National Leader, Frederick Fasheun, Dies At 83

The National leader of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasehun is dead.

A family source who pleaded anonymity confirmed that the Ondo born Nigerian medical doctor and global figure died on Friday night.

Our source added that he died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja after a brief illness.

Frederick Fasehun was 83 years old.

Fasehun was a front line mobilizer against the annulment of the mandate of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, a Yoruba who won the presidential election of 12 June 1993 but was barred from office.

Fasehun was imprisoned for 19 months from December 1996 to June 1998 during the military rule of Sani Abacha.
