Olota of Ota Receives Staff of Office

Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege has received staff of office from Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to officially become the 20th Olota of Ota.

Presenting the staff of office at the Ansar-ud-deen Comprehensive College, Iganmode Road, Ota, Governor Amosun called for the support of sons and daughters for the new monarch towards a successful reign.

The governor, who gave the assurance to ensure even delivery of dividends of democracy reaffirmed his administration’s determination to develop the Ota-Awori land.

Governor Amosun said the installation of Oba Obalalenge was a testimony to the commitment of his administration to ensure that the traditional institutions in the state continue to receive the utmost recognition due to them in the governance process.

He advised the new Olota of Ota to regard the appointment as a call to serve and concentrate on the task of accelerating the pace of socio-economic development in Aworiland by mobilizing your people in such a manner that their efforts would complement the initiatives of the government.

Governor Amosun gave the assurance that his administration would continue to strive to make life more comfortable for the citizens, pointing out that the task cannot be prosecuted single-handedly and successfully by government without the contribution of the citizenry.

He also urged the residents of the area to continue to render their civic responsibilities in the prompt payment of taxes, noting the strategic position of Ota town in its contribution to the revenue generation of the state.

In a remark, the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo expressed the hope that the tenure of the new monarch would strengthen ties and promote socio-economic development.
