One Alfa Babatunde Samuel, a self-acclaimed Islamic scholar, has been arrested for defrauding a woman of N500,000 and engaging her in ‘sex deliverance’ which was supposed to last for one month, according to pmexpress.

The incident reportedly occurred at Abule-Oko, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos state, where the victim had been taken for the sex deliverance, by the suspect. It was gathered that the police busted the deliverance session before it reached its one month mark. The suspect confessed to the police, that he had given a prophecy to the victim, which put fear into her. He stated that he had been selling films before he became an Alfa.

The victim also disclosed that Samuel had told her that she would soon die; and as such, needed deliverance to cast out the spirit of death. The ‘Alfa’ reportedly told the victim about things relating to her and her family, and then she asked for solutions to avert the prophecies. At that point, the victim was taken somewhere and told to pay the said sum of money, buy a goat, and engage in sexual intercourse with the Alfa for one month, so that the prophesied evil would not befall her. The victim then proceeded to obtain all the money from her sister and also began the sex deliverance with Samuel.

However, a continual request for money was what exposed the so-called Alfa; and the victim eventually told her sister what was actually happening. The matter was then reported to the police; after which, Samuel was trailed and arrested. He was subsequently charged to the Ejigbo magistrates court, and pleaded not guilty during trial. The suspect was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, by the presiding magistrate, Mrs J.O.E. Adeyemi Ajayi.

The magistrate also ordered that the surety deposit another N100,000 into the account of the court registrar. The matter was adjourned till March 26; with the suspect remanded in jail till he fulfills his bail conditions.
