Just like the popular Chinua Achebe’s literary work, “Things Fall Apart “, the end may have come to the eight years relationship of one Mr. Bamgbose and his estranged wife, Rashidat Oloyinde over matrimonial violence.

Bamgbose, a Lagos-based businessman had accused his once upon a time Juliet of infidelity with female partners in their marital home which resulted in physical combat between the duo. Bamgbose claimed that, she had been dating his baby mama in 2006 right from university days, before the courtship took another dimension as a result of Rashidat’s pregnancy.

A visibly angry Bamgbose told our reporter that, immediately his wife got pregnant of their seven year-old daughter, Boluwatife, he hurriedly approached the family to pay the bridal price. But since the birth of their daughter, the relationship has gone from bad to worse. It was everyday beating like the proverbial talking drum. However, event took another twist few years ago when Bamgbose who resides in Lagos lamented that since he came back from a business tour few years ago, he could not find both his wife and daughter at home. He said on investigation, he discovered that his in-laws have tactically relocated his wife and daughter to Abuja which has brought separation between the couple. Bamgbose explained that after many failed efforts to persuade his in-laws to reveal the whereabouts of his wife and daughter, he was left with no choice to open up by telling his wife’s family “Oloyinde” that the continuous quarrel between two of them was as a result of infidelity. He caught his wife in the act of lesbianism with pictures to prove.

But in a swift reaction, the estranged wife, Rashidat Oloyinde described her husband’s as a “pathological liar”. Rashidat in a reaction through anonymous family member accused her husband  of molesting and sexually harassing their daughter, Boluwatife when she was just one year and two months. Rashidat who is currently on summer holiday in Dublin claimed her baby father threatened to stab her to death if she screamed for help which resulted in habitual beating all the time. Rashidat, who is now married to another man in Abuja claimed that, though, she reported the sexual abuse on their 14 months daughter to the police sometime in September, 2012; she said she ran  for her life in 2013. Findings, however, revealed that, Rashidat was relocated to Abuja by a senior member of her family in 2013 who got her employed in one of the federal ministries where he met his new husband, one Alhaji with many wives.
