At Etal Hall, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos Professional Islamic Musicians Artistes International Association (PISMAN) would have its inauguration and presentation of awards.

In a statement issued by the National President, Alhaji Ibrahim Tidibodo, he said the Islamic Musical Association would have its inauguration on the 21st of May, 2017 with award presentation to honour people that have stood by the association since its inception.

Tidibodo stressed further on his plans to move the association forward. He said, “We are for peace and my leadership would do everything humanly possible to work with other Islamic musical group for a better relationship that would portray us as good Muslims.

“Also, I have set up a disciplinary committee that would always look into vices that shouldn’t be found among our members. Our songs, our dressings and morals ought to propagate Islam, and not the other way round. Part of our programme is to give a face to upcoming artistes among us. We are working assiduously on that and I want to use this opportunity to implore music promoters and marketers to always accommodate our members; those that are coming up because among them are great talents that needed to be exploited.

“Also, government should see our noble profession as job creation for the youths. Our members are majorly youths and entertainment today in Nigeria contributes a lot to nation’s development. We need government support at all levels; with our music, we too can change and make a better society.”
