An Illustrious son of Ilorin was lost to the cold hands of death on the 28th of November   and it was indeed a big loss  to  the Kwara State Muslim community.  Residents of the state capital had earlier in the day  broke  into groups to discuss a certain development in low tones. Information had spread that the  foremost Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abdulahi  Qudus Saadeen Koro  had passed on and it gradually became a special topic for discussion.   Growing apprehension, anxiety and shock were quite visible on people’s faces when the news began to spread and it was ultimately confirmed that the popular  Sheikh  had actually given up the ghost.

The late Sheikh  Abdulahi Qudus was a popular, respected and revered Islamic cleric and he was a spiritual father to  many prominent faces in the country. Global Excellence  gathered  that he had close associates that were also his close friends   among who are the former Chief of Staff to the President, General Abdulahi Muhammed, the Oba of Lagos,  His Royal Highness, Rilwan Akiolu, top businessman, Alhaji Umaru Saro and the late Admiral Mohammed Lawal.  Sheikh Qudus  offered spiritual advice to many other top personalities in the country including  former President Olusegun Obasanjo.      Meanwhile, Kwara State governor,  Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has mourned the late Sheikh Qudus, describing him as a legendary Islamic scholar.   ‘Our hearts bleed as we just lost a legendary Islamic scholar, philanthropist and educationist, Sheikh Abdulahi  Qudus Koro. I commiserate with Islamic scholars all over  the world, the Muslim  community, the Emir and the good people of Ilorin and indeed, the entire state. May his blessed soul rest in peace’ he stated.
