Facts have emerged about the alleged poisoning last week of Super Eagles and Arsenal top player, Alex Iwobi.

The young Iwobi was hospitalized for food poisoning in Abuja penultimate week.

Sources at the Eagles training camp in Abuja where the players were camped before moving to Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, said that Iwobi left his colleagues on the field and went to a popular eatery around Garki 2 where he ate salad.

An insider who was part of the attache team phoned this magazine to reveal the facts. The source stated that, Iwobi ate salad. The source added that the young player was not a lover of foreign food, and “not even at his base abroad does he take foreign food much”.

Iwobi was said to have complained to senior officials in the Super Eagles camp of having ‘a running stomach’ after eating.

The 19 years old is a nephew to former Super Eagles playmaker, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha. He arrived Nigeria two Sundays ago with other Super Eagles players for the great battle against Egypt in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that took place on the 25th and 29th of March, 2016.
