Halima Babangida’s Wedding Holds This Weekend, IV Cards Ready

Halima, the last daughter of former military president, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, is set to wed her fiance, Auwal Lawal, the ‘Sarkin Sudan Gombe’.

The wedding shindig is slated to hold in Minna, Niger State, this weekend. Initially, the last week of April was speculated for the wedding to take place.

Already, we gathered that the wedding Invitation Cards which cover wedding dinner are out and the card is designed as swipe automated key.

Meanwhile, it was said that the family of Nigeria’s former number-one man would have loved to keep the celebration as private as possibe due to reasons of domestic concern but it is very unlikely this would happen as preparations already are indicating  short of class and panache according to a reliable source close to the family.

The events leading to the wedding Fatihia begins on Thursday 11 May with the cultural night.
The wedding prayers will take place at the Hilltop Villa of the former military President Minna by 2.30 pm.
Halimat’s wedding will offer another opportunity for Nigerians to remember her mother and late First Lady, Maryam.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State says it will deploy no fewer than 135 personnel to provide security before and during the wedding fatiha.

Philip Ayuba, Commandant, NSCDC in the state, gave the figure on Wednesday in Minna.

He said that the command has set up three teams to achieve this purpose, including a surveillance team that will carry out under-cover activities in all the black spots within and outside the metropolis of the city.

He said another team will patrol the metropolis patrol, while a third team will secure the venues of the programme.

According to the NSCDC boss, the reception for the guests will hold at Justice Legbo Kutigi Conference Center in Minna, while the El Amin School and the Hilltop mansion of the former President, will hold a spill-over reception.

”We have already issued an effective operational order to the officers deployed for that effect,” he said.

He also said that sufficient personnel will be deployed to all the roads leading to the hill top residence of the former president.

Police Commissioner Zubairu Mu’azu also said 4000 policemen will be deployed to provide security on the highways, major roads in Minna the airport and the venues of the ceremony.
