Governor Amosun’s emergence as the governor of Ogun State was considered as one of the best decisions ever taken by the people at the beginning of his administration and the reason is not farfetched from the fact that when he came on board in 2011, made a lot of promises and convinced people with a lot of beautiful ideas that will hasten the progress of the state. People of the state consider him as one of the beautiful leaders that is needed to reshape the state and take them to the next level. He started by reviewing the policy and reengineering the economy of the state which yielded positive result in the area of IGR. Before his advent, the state IGR was N1.2B but with his new policies, the IGR moved up to N4B which makes the state to be one of the best states with IGR in the southwest.

Some doubting Thomases did not believe his promise for infrastructural development of the state but to an extent he proved them wrong as many of the projects were completed while some were  still under construction with majority at 70-85 completion.

Also, when he came, he retrieved the missionary schools that were returned to the initial owners by his predecessor in office and promised them to use the schools for five years as he is also going to construct model schools across the three senatorial districts of the state. The projects, according to him cost N1B each and he started the construction of 15 schools with the first phase and as at the time of filing this report, only one of the projects has been completed, the one that is being put into use is not even furnished with facilities that will make it conducive for pupils to learn.

Also, his decision to construct overhead bridge and cross roads across Ijebu-Ode Benin-Express road and dualiziation of roads around that axis was applauded by the people. The road has claimed many lives.  The bridge which was once seen as a blessing is now causing serious havoc to vehicles and neither the government nor the contractor is doing anything to correct the menace.

An inside source also informed our correspondent that some of his loyalists since the days of ANPP have desisted from moving closer to him because they no longer enjoy warm relationship with him. Some of them are running away from attending government, party and social gatherings because they do not have financial capacity to do so due to poor remunerations. Even some of his commissioners, advisers and political aides are complaining.
