Some hoodlums suspected to be political thugs last week invaded the home of the Kwara South Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Elizabeth Isapa.

The hoodlums were said to have looted the woman’s property and carted  away about N200,000.

According to sources, the incident was a fall- out of the face-off between the newly elected chairman of Ekiti local government area of the state, Comrade Yinka Dallas and former gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Simeon Ajibola, both of whom hail from the same Isapa community. The attack on the woman politician, according to sources in the council was the outcome of the arrest of some workers of the council who were said to have allegedly engaged in illegal tax collection. The arrested workers, said to be loyalists of the senator who were said to have been employed before the state’s ruling political structure moved to the APC, according to sources in the council had earlier been redeployed from their hitherto ‘lucrative beats’ upon the assumption of office by Dallas. It was alleged that the affected council staff went back to their former beats during which they were arrested. The spokesman of the state police command, Ajayi Okasanmi who confirmed the incident said Dallas had earlier called the command on Sunday to intimate officer of the planned unrest by suspected hoodlums. Although he could not be specific on the number of arrests made, he however, confirmed that the suspects would be transferred from Osi Police Division in Ekiti local government area to the state command from where they would be taken to court.
