Findings in the past few months have shown that the Home Owners Charter Programme of Ogun State government has been hijacked by suspected fraudsters. The inability of the government to release title document to successful applicants on time is said to be one of the weaknesses being capitalized upon by the criminals. One of the victims, whose house is close to Ojodu/Berger end of the state but craved anonymity, said that one of the fraudsters came to her house claiming to be an official of the state government and telling people that they have problem with their survey plans. She stated that the criminals had used the method to extort money from many unsuspecting and vulnerable members of the public. The criminal, who identifies himself simply as Mr. Rotimi, has his phone number as 08188422349.
