Undoubtedly, Folorunsho Folarin Coker, former Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture is a man of many parts, a highflying socialite, businessman as well as philanthropist of great repute.
He is surely a man that has been in the news for many years even before he was made a commissioner by the current governor of the state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
His profile has been on the rise while his influence soared high, even beyond the state.
We gathered that since the man-about-town was relieved of his post in October 2016, he has gone back to his business spanning various sectors of the economy.
We were also informed that he has been spending more time with family. They were together in the UK where they spent the last Yuletide. Right now, the well- loved man is in Abuja attending to various meetings with his business partners.
Folarin-Coker has been part of the Lagos State executive for a while. He served as the Personal Assistant to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from 1999 – 2003 after he was then officially appointed to the cabinet to serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the governor’s Office.
It was while he was in office as Deputy Chief of Staff that he was appointed MD of the Lagos State Number Plates Production Agency. Apparently, he is a favourite of the Asiwaju because he sponsored a full page newspaper advert to wish him a happy birthday on the 27th of July last year.
