Following Senator Abiola Ajimobi’s declaration of his intention to consider legislative assignment in 2019 after serving as the executive governor of Oyo State, the camp of Senator Soji Akanbi, senator representing Oyo South Senatorial district has been in fear. His fear is based on whether he would lose the seat and possibly the gubernatorial position in 2019.
The Senator who is also among the major contenders for the Agodi government house is not in the same camp with the governor politically and has been moving seriously to other senatorial districts to win party members to support his ambition.
Senator Ajimobi is one of his predecessors in that senatorial district and may likely return to the Senate after serving two terms as governor of the state.
