The chance of the leading gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde popularly known as Omi-Tuntun
received a major boost few weeks ago when the leader of the party in the country, Senator Rasheed Ladoja took the baton as the leader and
father of the party to unite all factions of the PDP in the state.
Senator Ladoja constituted a small committee to start unification exercise by going from one local government to the other in the state. One of such meetings was held at Ibadan South-West local government where most major contestants in various posts were seen together with
the leader of the party, Senator Rasheed Ladoja.
Most leaders were rallying round Eng. Seyi Makinde at different forums. This was seen at the recent Seyi Makinde Ramadan’s lecture where Sen. Rasheed Ladoja was present. His Imperial Majesty,
Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan of Ibadan was present and gave his royal blessing. Eng. Lere Adigun and other leaders of the party were there.
It is of note that Engr. Seyi Makinde and Rasheed Ladoja were not in good terms before. The two were fighting over who controls the party structures
in the state but the crisis has been resolved to fight their assumed common enemy, APC in the state.
