Although the Islamic law requires that the remains of a deceased Muslim should be buried as soon as possible from the time of death, the lifeless body of Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, serving senator and former governor of Osun State,  Nigeria, is still being attended to at LAUTECH, Oshogbo 12 hours after his death was announced.

This is not without a reason, though.

The immediate younger brother of Isiaka who is the father of songstar, Davido, reportedly halted any process of burying the dead.  Just like fans and loyalists of Alhaji Adeleke did, the Adelekes, allegedly encouraged by Davido’s father, shared the sentiment that the deceased could have either been poisoned or jazzed to death.

The late Adeleke was spotted at a public event on Saturday, a day before, with the incumbent deputy governor of Osun State and other home based political stalwarts. He died few hours after he retired to his private residence in Ede town from the event which took place in Oshogbo.

Recalled that late Isiaka Adeleke was a frontline contender to the seat of the incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State whose tenure expires in 2018. Apart from Senator Iyiola Omisore who is also contesting to succeed Aregbesola from the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Isiaka Adeleke was said to be the most popular aspirant from Aregbesola’s political party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

His entry into the race reportedly unsettled other APC aspirants because of his popularity among the Osun people as well as the fact that he had the chest to execute the 2018 battle in terms of funds.

An Osun indigene told this reporter this afternoon that the deceased’s brother, Deji, indeed, was much involved with his late brother in this contest, promising his full support. It was a shocking turnout for him hearing his brother’s sudden passage without signs of ill health.

Soon after his death was announced, his supporters took over major areas and communities that connect Osogbo with Ede towns. The angry fans who were attacking everything in sight, insisted that the late politician was spiritually attacked or poisoned because of his gubernatorial ambition.

The deceased’s body is now undergoing autopsy, we gathered.
