Tuesday, December 18th, 2018 was a memorable day for popular Fuji artiste, Amb. Sulaimon Adio ‘Atawewe’ (Akile 1), veteran Galala music singer Olorogun John Odafe Asiemo popularly known as ‘Daddy Showkey’, as they were made safety ambassadors for the ‘Lagos Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS).

The Lagos Safety Ambassador is a pioneer scheme by LACVIS aimed at working with individuals across all sectors that are promoting institutionalizing safety, especially on the roads.

Others on the honours list include, Mr Yinka Adebayo ‘Executive director of Media Reach, others are Adeyinka Aderibigbe (Head transportation desk The Nation), Adenusi Patrick (CEO of Towdah ltd), Asiwaju Jacob Fayeun (NATA Chairman), Alh Marufu Adebayo Arowolo (MOMTAN Chairman) and popular broadcaster Mrs Adebowale Ganiat (Iya Sharwama), became the ‘Lagos Computerised Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS) safety Ambassador.

While speaking, the sector commander Mr Obayendo said it is an advocacy project to encourage motorists to imbibe a high maintenance culture of their vehicles through voluntarily presentation of the vehicles for inspection at any of the LACVIS centres across Lagos.

However, commissioner for transportation Mr Lawanson revealed that they are quite convinced that the ambassadors will continue to use their platforms to further point attention to computerised vehicle inspection as the way to go to reduce the rates of accidents on the roads.

In reaction to this, Atawewe thanked LACVIS and he promised to be a good ambassador of the sector, he said he will continue to preach about safety anywhere he finds himself.

Daddy Showkey and Atawewe later did a combo song for the sector during the event which we believe they will later use as theme song.
