Buruji Kashamu’s Group Empowers 75 In Ogun Central

As the nation grapples with the challenge of unemployment, no fewer than 75 women, including petty traders, became beneficiaries of empowerment tools courtesy of one of the leaders of Omoilu Foundation, Barrister (Mrs) Bimbo Lanre- Balogun in Abeokuta today.

The 75 beneficiaries went home with a giant icy-breeze blizzard cooler each under the empowerment programme tagged, “Ogun Central Omoilu Foundation Women Wing Empowerment Scheme”.

Speaking at the event, Barrister Lanre-Balogun said the gesture became necessary as a way of encouraging the beneficiaries to  become masters of their own businesses and also to support the great work the founder of the Foundation, Senator Buruji Kashamu is doing across the Southwest states.

“We must encourage our women to become masters of their own businesses and also to support the founder of Omoilu Foundation in my own little way. Omoilu Foundation is a household name in the Southwest. We thank God for giving us a kind-hearted father in the person of Senator Kashamu,” she said.

Also, the Foundation gave out rice, food stuffs and other essential needs to the people.

Speaking on behalf of the Ogun PDP Chairman, Engineer Adebayo Dayo, the party state secretary, Alhaji Semiu Shodipo, showered encomium on the founder of the Foundation, Senator Buruji Kashamu for affecting the lives of the masses positively and also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the tools given to them.

In her words,  Otunba Remi Odubote, a three term Chairperson of Ijebu North- East Local Government Area and the women leader of the Foundation in Ogun state, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the empowerment tools and also praised Senator Kashamu for committing his hard-earned money to the cause of the downtrodden in Ogun state and in the Southwest.

Speaking on the occasion, the State Coordinator of Omoilu Foundation, Otunba (Comrade) Niyi Osoba, applauded Barrister Lanre-Balogun for the initiative, adding that the gesture will go a long way in assisting the beneficiaries to be masters of their own businesses.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion included Asalu Kola Sorinola, the Ogun PDP Secretary, Alhaji Semiu Sodipo; the Ogun Central PDP Senatorial Chairman, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu,Dr (Mrs)Bisola Sodipo-Clark, the Ogun State PDP Women leader, Chief Mrs. Remi Olusoji; the State PDP Youth leader, Hon. Femi Alao; the PDP Chairperson in Ijebu North LGA, Chief Mrs. Omotuke Omotara and the Ogun East Women leader of the Foundation, Mrs. Biola Onanusi.

Others were the Ogun West Senatorial Women leader, Chief Mrs. Iyabo Ogunmefun; the Ogun East PDP women leader, Alhaja Oriyomi Akibu; the PDP Women leader in Obafemi Owode LGA, Chief Mrs. Mrs. Ejioye; Mrs.Olufunke Shobande and Chief Mrs. Lola Soyombo, among others.
