All is now set for the first graduation ceremony and short films screening of Benin Film Academy student at Kada Cinemas, Benin City on Saturday February 24, 2018 by 12 noon.
The academy which went into partnership with Igbinedion University Okada, Benin City and Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s Nollywood Project 101 on January 14, 2017 at the 18th matriculation ceremony of the University, makes the higher institution the first private University in Nigeria to achieve such feat.
On this date, the institution will have her first and second graduating students presenting the screening of their short films after a red carpet which will start by 11 am to the admiration of their friends, families, love ones, movie enthusiasts and other students.
These were the sets of trained students in the acts script writing, acting, producing, editing and lighting from these well established Benin Film Academy.
Described as the gateway to the heart of Nollywood across the country took off with seasoned and talented Nollywood greats like; Desmond Elliot, Kanayo.O.Kanayo, Sani Mu’azu, Victor Okhai,Kabat Eseosa Egbon, Andrew Osawaru, Hyginous Ekwuazi and nollywood diva Omotola Jadade Ekehinde, endorsing the innovation.
In first of its kind, Benin Film Academy offered practical training in Acting, Directing, Editing and Script Writing that surpass all expectations; with summer film camp for teenagers and children.
In a chat with US, the veteran Producer who has been in the business of acting and production for more than two decades said, “When we started we promised to take them from nowhere to the big screen and that is what we have done because, the short films made by these students themselves will be screened at Kada Cinemas, Benin City”.
Also in a deliberate effort to give back to the society, several a list actors, producers, directors and Nollywood entrepreneurs who had seen it all have been on BFA to deliver Master Class lectures for aspiring Nollywood Actors, producers, editors, students and lovers of Nollywood.
Benin Film Academy is an initiative of Igbinedion University and Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen’s Nollywood project 101.
It offers courses in acting, directing, screen writing, cinematography editing and production with quarterly workshop tagged ‘BFA Workshop Series’.
