The Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; his father, Chief Arthur Okowa, and  27  others including the Primate of Anglican Church, Most Rev. Dr. Nicholas Okoh, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Bishop Ika Diocese of the Anglican Church, Bishop Peter Onekpe have been honoured for their services towards promoting God’s work at Saints Peters Anglican Church, Boji Boji Owa.

The church merit award to the 28 members was part of activities ending a week-long 25th year anniversary celebration of Saints Peters Anglican Church.

The Anglican Primate, Most Rev. Dr. Nichols Okoh, in his sermon during the church service, charged Christians to be dedicated to the services of God as their totality in serving God is needed  in attracting the blessings of God.

The Anglican Primate, who was represented by Bishop Friday Imaekhai, Bishop of The Esan Diocese of the Anglican Communion, said celebrating the goodness of God manifested in the tremendous progress witnessed in the church is important.

He noted that God has been wonderful in the last years since the church commenced church service at the permanent compound and showing amazing grace to the leadership that have been focused and committed to the progress of the church.

Archbishop Okoh said their perseverance and sacrifices cannot be quantified in the last 25 years, praying that Jesus will secure a safe landing for them, just as he noted that the monumental accomplishment and award to the  28 is an encouragement to others and divine recognition to their contributions in God’s vineyard.

The silver jubilee, as noted by the church, is a significant milestone that calls for celebration in assessment of roads taken and not taken, for acknowledging the proud and low moment and for rekindling of vision towards accomplishment of a mission.

The jubilee service, they said is devoted to praising God for his faithfulness, to acknowledge every member for their steadfastness and to formerly recognize and thank those who have over time sufficiently proved themselves to be vessels of sacrifices.
