Fuji music star, Alhaji Sulaimon Alao Adekunle Malaika, gave account of himself at the ongoing Felabration music festival when he wowed the audience with some of his memorable tunes. The Qibla of Fuji music was among the first set of artistes that performed at the annual commemorative event which held simultaneously at Freedom Park in Lagos Island and The New African Shrine, Ikeja.
Malaika reportedly mounted the stage with a tribute to the world acclaimed ‘Abami Eda’, praising him for the great legacy he left behind.
The 2018 edition of Felabration coincided with the celebration of Fela’s 80th birthday on Monday 15th of October, 2018.
“That Fela Anikulabo Kuti was a great man is not in doubt. Even in death, people are celebrating him. He fought on the side of the people; he fought for a just society. Fela lives forever,” Malaika stated.
Meanwhile, a foremost celebrity magazine, City People, has nominated Malaika in the ‘Best Fuji Musician 2018’ category.
According to the organizers of the awards event, Malaika was considered for the nomination for his contributions to the growth of Fuji and other musical genres.
The event comes up on Sunday 28th of October, 2018, at Balmoral Hall, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos.
