AJIMOBI: “I’ll Not Abandon Ongoing Projects in Oke Ogun”

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has assured the people of Oke Ogun zone of the state that his administration will ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the axis no matter what it takes.

He gave the assurance when addressing a stakeholders’ meeting of traditional rulers, students, community leaders and ethnic groups at Saki township hall during the All Progressives Congress campaign, in Saki, on Thursday.

Ajimobi, who is who is also the APC candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, had led the party on a campaign tour of the local governments and Local Council Development Areas of Oke Ogun since Wednesday.

The campaign trail, which is also headlined by the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, had so far berthed at Iseyin, Otu, Okaka, Iwere-Ile, Iganna, Ipapo, Ilero, Okeho and Saki, among other communities in Oke Ogun,

The occasion was also used to present the motorcycles bought for the use of the Hausa communities in all the LGAs and LCDAs of the zone by the Wife of the Governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, to the Seriki Arewa of Saki, Alhaji Ibrahim Sanusi.

The governor said that he would spare no effort to ensure the completion of the dual-carriage Saki township road that stretched from Oke Ogun Polytechnic to Ilesa-Ibariba road before the end of his tenure.

Similarly, he disclosed that the contractor handling the Baptist Grammar School Model School project had been disengaged in the furtherance of the determination of his administration to complete the project before his May 29 handing over.

Ajimobi said, “I’m saddened that the contractor handling the building of the Model School in Baptist Grammar School, Saki, has not lived to expectation. The contractor has been disengaged as part of measures to ensure that we complete the project.

“We have two of the model schools located in Ibadan. Saki was strategically picked for the third one and it is because of the delay in its completion that we disengaged the contractor.

“The state ministry of works has been mandated to complete the construction, which is in 42 per cent completion stage. I want to assure you again that this model school project will be completed before my administration leaves.

 “Our administration is the first to construct a dualized road in Saki ever since the existence of this community. And with the level of work I have seen, the road will be completed before our departure in May.”

The governor solicited the support of the Arewa communities in Oke Ogun for President Muhammadu Buhari as well as other candidates of the APC in the forthcoming general election.

Aligning himself with what he called the ongoing permutations, the governor said that he was confident that a massive vote for President Buhari in the Northwest and Southwest would boost his chances of getting re-elected.

Reeling out what he called the unassailable achievements of the APC at all levels in the last four years, he called on the people to vote for only the party’s candidates to enhance the country’s socioeconomic development.
