Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Royalty Lounge Nd Suites, Ikeja, Lagos, Babatunde Olaogun a couple of days back put smiles on the faces of the needy by visiting a number of orphanages in Lagos where he donated some gift items to fulfil his pledge to be touching the lives of the less privileged in the society.
The kind gesture which the young entrepreneur tagged Royalty Givings was launched on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Love Home, CMD, Magodo, Lagos and is billed to be an annual event which will be executed with part of the proceeds from his hospitality business which just bounced back after the challenges that almost sent him packing from the business in the second quarter of this year.
The humanitarian service, we learnt, set the Lagos born businessman cum politician back by thousands of naira. The visits to the motherless babies’ homes,we were told, preceeded the Ileya Groove which held at the lounge on Friday, September 1, 2017. The well attended event featured some entertainers, including star actor, Yemi Solade.
Going by Olaogun’s words, “it’s better to give when requested but best to give when not even requested. It’s on the basis of this that Royalty Lounge is taking its service to the peopke a step higher.By doing this, i believe we’re still putting the people first which remains one of the core values of tge business. But this time around, our attention is more on the vulnerable in the society.
“Apart from being an annual event in an elaborate way, we will also be committing a fraction of the profits from the business to lifting the spirits of the less privileged, especially the orphans as a way of appreciating God and giving back to the society.”
On whether there’s a profit making motive behind the initiative,Olaogun said, “No, we don’t have such a thing in our mind. We demanded nothing in return but a true commitment to business ideas and commitment to touching the lives of the less privileged as contained in the scriptures-Luke 6:38. It will also be a good thing the if this initiative gets a boost from friends and associates so that we can collectively achieve the big dream.”
On the latest concerning the alleged fraudulent transaction involving the purchase of some laptops worth N4.5 m naira from a business partner at Computer Village, Ikeja a couple of months back which led to his arrest and detention by the police, he reacted, “We’re fulfilling our part of the agreement gradually, we will soon fulfil the whole thing completely by the special grace of God. There’s no doubt about it.”
