Seasoned Yoruba actor, Taiwo Babatunde Hassan otherwise known as Ogogo, has cleared the air on his open support for one of the governorship candidates in the 2019 Ogun State governorship race, Senator Solomon Olamilekan a.k.a Yayai, saying that the politician is like a his blood brother.
Ogogo said this recently while debunking a story published by a news website (not Global Excellence online) which quoted him as having warned the sitting governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, against verbally attacking Yayi because of politics.
The story that went viral on the social media alleged that Ogogo said this while fielding questions with journalists during the 2017 open ground Ramadan lecture at Asade Agunloye Pavillion Ground Empire, Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State.
Expressing his displeasure over the story, the star actor said, “That is one of the reasons I rarely grant interviews. I hate it when journalists create misconception, misquote me or put words into my mouth. I am a man of my words, not somebody that speaks from both sides of the mouth.
I can never speak ill of Governor Amosun or challenge his authority though I’m a staunch supporter of Yayi. Yayi is like a brother to me and we are from the same Ilaro Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State. I wonder why the reporter didn’t publish the part where I revealed how I massively supported Governor Amosun during his campaign for second term. It’s annoying.”
